This is the original 470 Mbogo that made the trip to Africa and is the basis for the From Start to Finish article. It is built on a Ruger 77 Mk11 that was originally a 416 Rigby. The barrel was re-bored and rifled by Cliff LaBounty. The magazine box has a slight modification which allows three cartridges down under and one to still feed into the chamber. The recoil pad is a Pachmayer triple magnum. There is a fiber optic bead front sight added and the folding leaf rear sight system has a white triangle on the standing 100 yard sight for quick reference.
