This 470 Mbogo is a start from scratch project utilizing a Brno 602 action. The barrel is a 1-in-16 twist 23 inch Super Match grade from Pac-Nor. The stock is made from a Turkish Circassian blank from Dressel’s. The stock is Dave’s own design to leave that Big Bore look and to help control the recoil generated. It is fitted with a triple magnum Pachmayer pad also which is a big part of the recoil dissipating system. The forend is finished with an ebony cap, the pistol grip cap is from Dressel’s, and the rear sling swivel is flush fitted to work in conjunction with the NECG barrel band. The stock was checkered by Steve Markin of Webber and Markin located in Kelowna, B.C. The finish is a Dembart oil finish. The stock has two cross bolts with the action pillar bedded as well as glass bedded forward to the second barrel recoil lug. The barrel recoil lug was made by Rob Garnick. The custom bolt knob was done by Webber and Markin also. The three position safety is by PME. The quarter rib is a modified to fit Dakota rib with a forward mounted Ashley peep. The front sight is a NECG Universal sight with the adjustable fiber optic bead.
